NYJA Donates to Musicians in Haiti

This past Saturday, New York Jazz Academy® director Javier Arau joined with Experience Ayiti, a Bronx-based non-profit, and donated a vanload of musical equipment to musicians in Haiti. Equipment included drum kits, keyboards, amps, white boards, refrigerators, books, and more. If you are looking to take part in #GivingTuesday, consider joining NYJA in supporting the Experience Ayiti instrument drive. Unlike many charities, there is virtually no overhead, with all donations moving directly from the few key NY musicians involved and straight into the hands of people who need the donations. NYJA faculty member Michael Feinberg is taking the trip to Haiti to help distribute the equipment on December 26, but the freighter leaves this weekend, so now’s the time to donate. Visit Experience Ayiti for how you can donate and get involved.
